Runner’s Knee

Runner’s Knee , is the common term used to describe one of several conditions that potentially cause pain in the kneecap (the patella). The conditions include anterior knee pain syndrome, patellofemoral malalignment, chondromalacia patella, and iliotibial band syndrome.

The pain of runner’s knee can be caused by lots of issues including irritation of the soft tissues around the knee, worn or torn cartilages, or possible strained tendons. Playing sport can cause overuse and trauma to the kneecap. There also can be many underlying issues that could be the cause.
