Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome  (PFPS), is a term used to describe pain in the front of your knee and around your kneecap (the patella). Sometimes a condition known as chondromalacia patella is present. Chondromalacia patella is the softening and breakdown of the articular cartilage in the underside of your kneecap

It’s sometimes referred to as runner’s knee or jumper’s knee, because it is a common problem for those who play football, basketball or any other jumping sport.
