Osgood Schlatter’s Disease

Sub-4 Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Clinic in Staffordshire, West Midlands

Osgood Schlatter’s Disease

Osgood-Schlatter disease, causes pain and swelling below the knee joint where the patellar tendon is attached to the top of the shinbone (tibia), an area called the tibial tuberosity.

The disease usually heals on its own given time but in the meantime, the focus is on relieving the pain and swelling.

As with all knee pain, especially prolonged pain periods, it is always best to get it assessed by a Musculoskeletal Podiatrist to make sure there is no underlying conditions and of course to advise on the best way to achieve recovery.
